About Us

J-Soc, a part of the Union of Jewish Students (UJS) provides a highly interesting, exciting and beneficial Jewish programme for all Jewish students and staff in Southampton. We welcome members from both the University of Southampton and Southampton Solent University.

Whether you are orthodox, reform, progressive or just born Jewish we would be delighted to meet you.

Through regular events we cover a broad range of Jewish topics, from festivals and educational events to lively discussions and just plain socials we fill each semester with a packed programme.

We also hold regular inter-faith events where two or more different religious groups get together to learn more about each other's beliefs whilst having fun at the same time.

More recently we have also set up a 5-a-side football team and we are currently researching the idea of establishing other sports teams.  In 2006 the Jewish Society set up a supplement to this website with a group on the popular social tool Facebook.
